A recent report from the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Assocham) says that 75% of all real estate projects in the country were “non-starters” in 2014-15. Apart from delays, investments into the sector are also slowing, the report adds. In this background, growth of 136% in value terms and 122% in volumes is stellar. That’s Mahindra Lifespaces for FY15. Spearheaded by Arjundas, the company wants to ride on the smart city wave. She plans to complete 3 million sq.ft. in the coming year, and plans to buy now that prices are low. Despite all this, the company reported an 88% decline in consolidated net profit for the first quarter of FY16, largely because of investments made in new projects.
