BYJU RAVEENDRAN,

Founder, Byju's
age: 37
Byju Raveendran began by holding informal classes at cafes to help friends crack the business school entrance exam. Today, he heads India’s largest education technology firm, Byju’s, which runs a learning app for everybody from school students to competitive exam candidates. Byju Raveendran first took the Common Aptitude Test (CAT) in 2003 and came out with a 100 percentile—so he decided to take the test again to make sure it wasn’t a fluke. It wasn’t. He maxed it again. Despite his scores, he chose not to go to management school and opted for teaching instead. Wise decision. Fifteen years down the road, 37-year-old Raveendran heads India’s largest education technology firm, Byju’s, that runs a popular personalised mobile learning app offering study material for school students and competitive exam candidates. The app has 14 million registered students and is growing by the day
