You no longer need to bell the CAT (Common Admission Test) to pick the brains of India’s best B-school professors. For the first time, publisher Random House India (RHI) has tied up with the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) to bring out a series of business books written by its faculty. “The series attempts to bring key issues in business to the general audience, explaining them in an Indian context,” says RHI editor-in-chief Chiki Sarkar. RHI plans to publish four books each year.
The first set of books, expected in November, includes Managers Who Make a Difference by T.V. Rao, The Persuasive Manager by M.M. Monippally, Business and Intellectual Property by Anurag K. Agarwal, and Strategies for Growth by Atanu Ghosh. Both IIMA and the authors, who are researching topics such as supply chain management, communication skills, and leadership, will receive royalties. The books will also help global business professionals gain an insight into India, says Monippally.
