Batman Returns

You can own your very own piece from Tim Burton’s 1989 film Batman, with this Kross Studio 1989 Batmobile desk clock. Swiss startup Kross Studio and Warner Bros Consumer Products teamed up to recreate the dark knight’s buggy as a desk clock, with an aluminium body, spinning wheels and tinted windows. The hours and minutes, oriented horizontally within the centre of the Batmobile’s hood, are displayed on twin cylinders. The 1989 series of the clocks are limited to just 100 pieces.

The ‘Ruby Teardrop’ sunglasses by Francis de Lara is based on the undulations of a Renaissance frame, with a ‘blood’ Gemfields ruby teardrop. This pair is of gold-plated sterling silver, with yellow 24 k gold cabochons, one pear-cut ruby (1.1 ct), and seven oval-cut amethysts (3.185 ct) encrusting the side-temples. The piece comes with a handmade Tuscan leather ‘clutch’ purse-case.

Fabergé’s Colours of Love White Gold Black Rhodium Fluted Rainbow Cufflinks feature four Mozambican rubies (0.11 ct) and four Zambian emeralds (0.25 ct) from Gemfields mines, two blue, orange, pink, violet, and yellow sapphires each, and two tsavorites, set in 18 k white gold. The cufflinks are in 18 k Peruvian mined gold ore that contains no mercury, making them sustainable and traceable.

Time For Love

Lovebirds that tell the time, Van Cleef & Arpels style! Combining on-demand animation and a retrograde time display, the Fontaine aux Oiseaux, that took 25,200 hours to create and measures 44.1cm x 41.1cm, offers a beautiful garden scene with two colourful gold bird automatons perched on the edge of a fountain, created by François Junod. The birds, set in diamonds, sapphires, garnets, tsavorites, lapis lazuli and amethysts, come to life for about a minute. The water in the basin starts to ripple, a water lily blooms and a dragonfly rises into the air. The birds at the edge of the basin wake, their song ringing out — thanks to an assembly that includes a bellows and a clicking box, imitating chirping and beak sounds. They raise their heads and move their wings to begin their courtship display.
