Today’s entrepreneurs will create a country we will be proud of: Murthy
Infosys founder N.R. Narayana Murthy last Friday said Indian entrepreneurs of today are much smarter than those of his time. Addressing the Fortune India 40Under40 Award event in Bengaluru, Murthy said, “Entrepreneurs of today are clearly much smarter than we were. There is no doubt about it.”
“The biggest competition is the market for revenue and the market for talent. During our time, when I founded Infosys in 1981, along with my six younger colleagues, talent was easily available. Talent was not a big problem then. But today, talent is extremely difficult to get as there are multiple opportunities. Secondly, we all took the easy route with a focus on the export markets. But the beauty of the current entrepreneurs is that they are all fighting in the Indian domestic market. That is not easy,” Murthy added.
