German luxury carmaker ramps up India play with locally assembled Q3, promising segment-first tech and a sharper price edge ahead of 2026 launch

Audi India has commenced local assembly of the all-new Audi Q3 at the Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, ahead of the SUV’s scheduled launch on October 16, 2026.
The carmaker said production of the new-generation Q3 had begun at the facility on September 25. The model will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine and feature Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system. The company said the SUV would also offer a range of segment-first features and technologies but has not disclosed other details.
Piyush Arora, managing director and CEO of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said the start of production marked a milestone for the group’s operations in India. “The start of production of the All-New Audi Q3 is an important milestone for our Group in India. It reflects the strong capabilities of our Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility and our commitment to supporting the growth of our brands in the country. We are proud to produce the latest Audi Q3 in India, with the same high standards of quality, precision and engineering excellence that define Audi globally,” he said.
Audi’s manufacturing arrangement with SAVWIPL predates this production milestone. The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility, formerly known as Aurangabad, has assembled Audi vehicles since 2007. The plant is part of the Volkswagen Group’s manufacturing operations in India, which support other brands. The new Q3 will be assembled at that facility. The facility supports local manufacturing.
Balbir Singh Dhillon, brand director at Audi India, said the Q3 had served as an entry point to the brand and that the latest generation was expected to broaden its reach. “The Audi Q3 has been an important gateway to the Audi brand, and this new generation is set to build on that success with its distinctive design, progressive technology and dynamic character,” he said. Dhillon added that the company viewed the SUV as a catalyst for its next phase of growth, helping it reach more customers and strengthen its presence in India.
Bookings are open through the Audi India website, the myAudi Connect application and dealerships. Audi has not announced the new Q3’s price, but reports suggest it would be priced around ₹55 lakh to ₹60 lakh. The company has scheduled the vehicle’s India launch for October 16, 2026.
