Tata Motors reported a strong festive performance, delivering more than 1 lakh passenger vehicles between Navratri and Diwali, registering a robust 33% year-on-year growth. The surge was led by high demand for its SUV and EV lineup, including the Nexon, Punch, and Harrier, supported by improved supply and festive buying sentiment.

“Over the 30-day period from Navratri to Diwali, we have achieved a landmark milestone with over 1 lakh vehicle deliveries, reflecting a robust 33% growth compared to the same period last year,” said Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.

“Our SUVs continue to lead this momentum — with the Nexon (India’s No. 1 selling car in September 2025) registering over 38,000 retails, an impressive 73% growth, while the Punch clocked 32,000 units, growing 29% year-on-year. Our EV portfolio too has shown strong traction, with over 10,000 EVs retailed during this period, marking a 37% growth,” he said.

Chandra further said that the auto major’s full portfolio of cars and SUVs has supported this surge further, reinforcing the company’s strategic commitment to product leadership, market relevance and delivery excellence in this pivotal festive window.

“Furthermore, we believe this performance sets the tone for the rest of the fiscal, especially as we gear up for exciting new launches this year, complemented by sustained customer enthusiasm,” said Chandra.

During this Dhanteras and Diwali, the company delivered over 25,000 vehicles, as strong demand in the backdrop of GST 2.0 reform provided positive momentum. “This year, Dhanteras and Diwali deliveries are spread over two to three days in line with the auspicious mahurats. Overall demand has been robust, and the GST 2.0 reform has further provided positive momentum. We expect to deliver over 25,000 vehicles during this period,” said Amit Kamat, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles.

The company is leveraging the extended festive period to meet heightened customer demand, reflecting continued strong consumer interest ahead of the Diwali season, he added.
