The company has commenced production of its flagship SUV in Gujarat as it looks to strengthen its position in the premium SUV segment amid rising consumer demand for feature-led models.

JSW MG Motor India has started production of the MG Majestor at its manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, marking the company’s entry into the D+ SUV category as competition intensifies in India’s fast-growing premium utility vehicle market.
The Majestor will be positioned as the company’s flagship SUV offering and comes at a time when SUVs continue to dominate India’s passenger vehicle market, accounting for more than half of total industry sales. Automakers are increasingly focusing on premium and lifestyle-oriented utility vehicles as consumers shift towards larger, feature-rich models with enhanced technology and off-road capabilities.
Manufactured at MG’s Halol facility, the Majestor has been designed to target buyers seeking a blend of premium features, rugged capability and advanced safety technologies. The SUV comes equipped with an advanced four-wheel-drive system with 10 off-road modes and triple differential locks across the front, rear and centre — features aimed at differentiating it in the premium SUV segment.
The vehicle also offers Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), crawl control technology, 219 mm ground clearance and water-wading capability of up to 810 mm, underlining the company’s focus on performance-oriented mobility solutions.
JSW MG Motor India is also using ownership and after-sales benefits to strengthen the Majestor’s premium positioning. Under its “Complete Peace of Mind” programme, the company is offering a five-year unlimited kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assistance and five labour-free services.
Customers can pre-reserve the Majestor at ₹41,000, with early buyers expected to receive priority deliveries and exclusive preview experiences.
Commenting on the production rollout, Biju Balendran, Deputy Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said the Majestor represents a significant step in the company’s premium SUV strategy.
“The commencement of production of the MG Majestor marks a significant step for us as we move closer to introducing a new benchmark in the premium SUV space,” Balendran said. “Built at our Halol facility with advanced processes and stringent quality systems, the Majestor is engineered to deliver high standards of durability, performance and reliability.”
Meanwhile, the Halol manufacturing plant remains central to JSW MG Motor India’s expansion strategy. The facility currently has an annual production capacity of over 1 lakh vehicles and supports around 6,000 direct and indirect jobs.
