The luxury carmaker said the additional variant has been introduced in response to customer feedback seeking an alternative configuration within the CLA electric lineup. The new CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ will join the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’, which was earlier confirmed for the Indian market.

Bookings for both variants have commenced with a token amount of ₹1.5 lakh. Deliveries for the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ will begin by end-April, while the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ is slated to reach customers from June.

Range, Performance and Fast-Charging Capability

The CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ offers a claimed driving range of 792 km on a single charge, while the newly introduced CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ delivers a range of 542 km. Both variants are built on an 800-volt architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging. Using a 240 kW DC fast charger, the CLA 250+ can add up to 400 km of range in about 20 minutes, while the CLA 200 can gain around 320 km in the same time.

Mercedes-Benz said the equipment levels will remain similar across both variants, underlining its strategy of offering high product content and advanced technology as standard. The CLA 200 will feature the brand’s ‘Progressive Line’ styling with comfort seats, a multifunction sports leather steering wheel and two trim options.

Customers will also have the option to install a 22 kW home wall box charger, priced at ₹50,000 including installation, with complimentary units being offered to early pre-booking customers.

“The addition of the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ reflects strong customer interest for a variant combining competitive range with our growing charging ecosystem,” the company said.
