The Fortuner Leader Edition is priced at ₹36.51 lakh for the 4x2 manual variant and ₹38.72 lakh for the 4x2 automatic variant, ex-showroom. Bookings will open on October 12.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Renault India announced updates to their SUV line-ups on Friday, with Toyota introducing the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition at a starting price of ₹36.51 lakh and Renault opening bookings for the new Duster strong hybrid E-Tech 160, which has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 29 km per litre.
The Fortuner Leader Edition is priced at ₹36.51 lakh for the 4x2 manual variant and ₹38.72 lakh for the 4x2 automatic variant, ex-showroom. Bookings will open on October 12.
The new edition gets exterior updates, including a redesigned front grille, gloss-black alloy wheels, a black roof treatment and black rear door garnish. The cabin features dual-tone black and maroon upholstery, ambient lighting and illuminated scuff plates. It also comes with auto-folding outside rear-view mirrors and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Fortuner Leader Edition will be available in Super White, Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black.
Renault India, meanwhile, has opened bookings for the new Duster strong hybrid E-Tech 160 ahead of its official market debut on October 17. Customers can book the SUV for ₹21,000 through the company’s website or authorised dealerships.
The new Duster features a strong-hybrid powertrain comprising a 1.8-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 160 PS.
Its multi-mode transmission manages the petrol engine and electric motors depending on driving conditions. The system can run on electric power under suitable conditions and recover energy during braking and deceleration. The battery charges while driving and does not require an external charging source.
Renault said the hybrid Duster offers an alternative for SUV buyers considering diesel models, combining a 160 PS output with an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 29 km per litre.
Commenting on the announcement, Francisco Hidalgo, vice-president, sales and marketing, Renault Group India, said, “Indian SUV customers should not have to choose between performance and fuel efficiency.”
“With a combined output of 160 PS and an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 29 km/litre, the Duster strong hybrid E-Tech 160 brings both together in a versatile SUV, without requiring external charging,” he said.
Toyota, meanwhile, said the Fortuner has sold more than 3.3 lakh units over the past decade and a half. The company is offering the new edition with five years of complimentary roadside assistance and a standard warranty of three years or 1,00,000 km, extendable to five years or 2,20,000 km.
Renault said the hybrid Duster will be the first E-Tech model introduced in India under its futuREady roadmap.
