The total budget expenditure for 2024-25 is set at ₹48.2 lakh crore, with the Ministry of Finance receiving the highest allocation of over ₹18 lakh crore. The Ministry of Defence follows in second place with ₹6.21 lakh crore. Among the top five ministries, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Railways, and Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution have been allocated ₹2.78 lakh crore, ₹2.55 lakh crore, and ₹2.23 lakh crore, respectively.
