Air India Express to launch twice-daily Delhi–Aurangabad flights from Sept 1, expands domestic network

Air India Express on Thursday announced the launch of twice-daily direct flights between Delhi and Aurangabad from September 1, 2026, as the airline continues to expand its domestic network and strengthen connectivity across India. 

Bookings for the new route are now open through the airline's website, mobile app, and other booking platforms. 

The airline said the new service will provide business and leisure travellers with improved access to Aurangabad, the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Ajanta and Ellora, while also offering seamless onward connectivity through Delhi to destinations across the Air India Express network. 

As part of its network expansion, Air India Express will also launch twice-daily flights between Mumbai and Coimbatore and Mumbai and Jamnagar, along with daily services between Mumbai and Jodhpur, effective September 1. 

The carrier is further strengthening its domestic footprint by adding Coimbatore, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Madurai and Tirupati to its expanding network from the same date. 

According to the airline, the expansion is aimed at enhancing connectivity across western, southern and northern India by linking key business, industrial, tourism and pilgrimage destinations. 

Aurangabad strengthens the airline's presence in Maharashtra as a major tourism gateway, while Jamnagar enhances connectivity to one of India's important industrial and energy hubs. In southern India, Coimbatore joins Madurai and Tirupati, catering to manufacturing, heritage and religious travel, respectively. Jodhpur further expands the airline's network in Rajasthan, a key tourism market. 

The latest expansion follows a series of network additions by Air India Express in recent weeks. The airline recently began operations from Bhopal with daily flights to Delhi and Mumbai, became the first carrier to launch international services from Navi Mumbai with flights to Abu Dhabi, and introduced the first direct air links between Northeast India and the UAE through services from Guwahati to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. 

With the latest additions, Air India Express' domestic network will expand to 48 destinations, supported by more than 2,700 weekly domestic flights, further enhancing connectivity between major metropolitan centres and emerging cities across the country.
