The land was purchased from The House of Abhinandan Lodha and is located near the developer’s 75-acre luxury plotted development, “The Sarayu,” along the banks of the Sarayu river. The transaction was executed through AB Corp Ltd, Bachchan’s family-run company, according to a statement from the developer.

The latest acquisition adds to Bachchan’s growing property portfolio in the Uttar Pradesh city and marks his third investment in Ayodhya through the developer.

Expanding portfolio in Ayodhya

Bachchan was among the earliest high-profile buyers in the project when he acquired a 10,000 sq ft plot in “The Sarayu” in January 2024, shortly before the inauguration of the Ram temple. The purchase was widely seen as an indication of rising interest among wealthy investors in the city’s luxury plotted developments.

The veteran actor has also bought another residential plot in Ayodhya’s Haveli Avadh project for about ₹4.5 crore, located close to the temple area.

Separately, reports have indicated that land measuring more than 54,000 sq ft located roughly 10 km from the temple site was acquired through the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Trust, potentially for a cultural or memorial project dedicated to his father, the noted Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

Taken together, the purchases position Bachchan among the most prominent individual investors in Ayodhya’s emerging real-estate market.

The surge in infrastructure spending has been accompanied by a sharp rise in visitor numbers. Government estimates indicate that about 23 crore visitors travelled to Ayodhya between January and June 2025, with projections suggesting the figure could reach nearly 50 crore by the end of the year.

Bachchan is not the only high-profile personality investing in land developments linked to the same developer. Bollywood actors Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan have also bought plots in the company’s Sol de Alibaug project, indicating a broader trend of celebrity participation in branded land developments.
