Quick-commerce platform Blinkit has expanded into airport retail, launching its services at Terminal 2 (domestic departures) of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, marking what the company calls a first-of-its-kind offering globally.

The service, rolled out in partnership with Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), will allow travellers to order from a curated catalogue of over 2,500 products, including phone chargers, books and gifts, directly through the Blinkit app. Deliveries are fulfilled within the terminal by a dedicated team, aimed at addressing last-minute needs before boarding. AAHL is India's largest private airport operator.

“Today we’re launching Blinkit inside the Mumbai Airport,” Eternal Group CEO Albinder Singh Dhindsa said in a post on X. “Travellers can now order from a selection of 2,500+ products… Orders will be delivered within the terminal by our dedicated team of walkers.”

Dhindsa added that the company sees this as a new use case for quick commerce. “This is the first airport in the world to have a service of this kind and we’re excited to deliver all the last-minute needs of our customers,” he said.For AAHL, it reflects a strategic push to enhance passenger convenience while unlocking non-aeronautical growth through digitally enabled retail.

The users have to update the Blinkit app to the latest version to order.

“Adani Airports is reimagining how digital services can enhance the airport experience. Bringing app-based convenience into the terminal allows passengers to make better use of their time and raises the overall service standard. This is a step towards building more responsive and passenger-centric airports,” said an AAHL spokesperson.

The move is a signal to Blinkit’s push beyond its core hyperlocal delivery model into high-footfall transit hubs, where time sensitivity and impulse purchases are high. Airports, with captive audiences and limited retail options once inside security, offer a natural extension for quick commerce platforms looking to deepen engagement and increase order frequency.

For AAHL, it is a strategic push to enhance passenger convenience while unlocking non-aeronautical growth through digitally enabled retail.

As of the December quarter (Q3FY26), Eternal's quick commerce arm reported revenue of ₹12,256 crore, reflecting an 8.8x year-on-year increase. It also posted its first adjusted EBITDA profit of ₹4 crore, compared to a loss of ₹156 crore in the previous quarter. Eternal (formerly Zomato) reported ₹16,315 crore (approx. $1.9 billion) in Q3 FY26 revenue, driven by a 200%+ YoY growth largely from Blinkit.

The company added 211 net new stores during the quarter, taking its total network to 2,027, and reiterated its plan to reach 3,000 stores by March 2027.

Recently however, triggered by the ongoing Middle East crisis, Eternal has seen a ₹9,072 crore erosion in market value.

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal stepped down as Group CEO on February 1, 2026, to pursue independent ventures, with Dhindsa taking over the role.

Blinkit’s airport foray could serve as a testing ground for similar partnerships across other major transit hubs, as quick commerce firms look to expand use cases beyond groceries and daily essentials into convenience-led, on-the-go consumption.
