Former Union Minister Smriti Irani, who has been a long-standing advocate for women’s empowerment and the inspiration behind the initiative, congratulated Yuthika Gokaraju—who leads the initiative—on the launch, underscoring the significant economic and public health potential of focused investments in women’s wellness.

“Women must be at the centre of decision-making for a future-ready society—not only in education and opportunity, but in health and wellbeing,” Irani said. “An initiative of this scale, grounded in science and led by a young woman, reflects both India’s capability and its conscience. Prioritising women’s health is not just a social responsibility; it is an economic and national imperative.”

Strategic expansion of Laila Nutraceuticals

The initiative represents a strategic expansion of Laila Nutraceuticals’ nearly five decades of scientific work into a comprehensive preventive wellness platform designed to support women across all stages of life. Rooted in long-term botanical research and clinical validation, the platform aims to address structural gaps in women’s healthcare through credible, evidence-based solutions.

Led by Yuthika Gokaraju, Vice President – Business Development at Laila Nutraceuticals, the programme integrates traditional Indian botanical knowledge with modern clinical science, supported by globally benchmarked formulation and delivery technologies. “Women’s health has historically been addressed in fragments,” Gokaraju said. “This initiative seeks to build a coherent, science-led framework that supports women consistently across life stages, while remaining grounded in clinical validation, safety, and long-term impact.”

The platform combines patented, clinically validated bioactives with advanced dual-release delivery systems to ensure daily usability and consistent absorption. Its focus areas include reproductive and menstrual health, hormonal transitions, metabolic balance, bone and joint health, cognition, mood, and healthy ageing.

The launch also aligns with the government's push for evidence-based traditional and preventive healthcare. Addressing the Second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had highlighted that restoring balance in health is a “global urgency” and stressed the need to advance traditional medicine through science, regulation, and global collaboration.

The initiative is proposed to be co-launched under the regulatory purview of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and the Ministry of AYUSH.

Backed by Laila Nutraceuticals’ global research infrastructure—including over 150 scientists, more than 20 patented ingredients, cGMP-compliant manufacturing facilities, and partnerships across 25 countries—the company is infusing nearly ₹350 crore into expanding its manufacturing capabilities.
