“These are very delicate matters. And matters where a lot of commercial and business acumen will have to work. Business cordiality will have to work,” Sitharaman said.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday said the ongoing dispute within the Tata Group must be resolved amicably by the parties involved, while adding that the government would not rush into intervening in the matter.
Speaking at an event in Mumbai, Sitharaman described the issue as a “very delicate” matter involving commercial and business considerations. She said the dispute was important given the Tata Group’s contribution to the Indian economy and its standing as a global brand.
“These are very delicate matters. And matters where a lot of commercial and business acumen will have to work. Business cordiality will have to work,” Sitharaman said.
She noted the Tata Group’s brand value and the contribution of the Parsi community in building it into a global name, while pointing to the group's extensive presence across sectors.
“I know the brand value of Tata, the contribution that the Parsi community has made to make Tata a huge global brand. I also know the expanse of activity which Tata's are invested in. So this is a very critical component to Indian economy and therefore it has to be amicably settled among themselves,” she said.
Sitharaman added that the parties should work towards restoring normalcy at the earliest and said the dispute should not continue playing out in the public domain.
“It cannot be spilling out like this in the public. And for the maturity of that leadership, we would like to have this scene settled sooner,” she said.
When asked whether the government would bring the two sides to the table to facilitate a compromise, the Finance Minister declined to make any commitment.
“That's why I said it is rather a sensitive issue. It's not something I would want to quickly comment on,” she said.
Her remarks came amid an ongoing dispute over the leadership and governance of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group. The differences have also triggered a political exchange, with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raising allegations concerning the group's affairs and questioning the government's position.
