The Infosys veteran will take over as managing director and CEO on April 1, 2027, with the board proposing a five-year term.

In a surprise announcement, Bengaluru-headquartered Infosys named Ashiss Kumar Dash as CEO-designate, effective July 23, nearly nine months ahead of the completion of Salil Parekh's term. Dash will take over as the company's CEO from April 1, 2027, and the board has proposed a five-year term for him. The appointment comes as the second term of current CEO and MD Salil Parekh, which began on June 28, 2023, is set to end on March 31, 2027.
Making a brief appearance at the post-results press conference, Infosys chairman Nandan Nilekani credited Parekh with stabilising the company, adding nearly $10 billion in revenue and leading the transformation required for the digital era. Calling Dash a "true blue Infoscion" who has spent nearly three decades with the company, Nilekani said, "He's worked in every part of Infosys, be it in delivery, be it in sales, be it in account management, starting a new DC in Bhubaneswar, everything. He's someone who I think everybody likes, respects. He's an uncomplicated guy who focuses on what needs to be done."
While Dash is currently based in the United States, he is expected to relocate to India by the next quarter. "From October 1, Salil will take him on as his mentee and prepare him for the role so that he can take on this role of managing a complex $20-billion company in a very transformational time," Nilekani added.
As part of his prepared statement, Ashiss Kumar Dash, CEO-designate, said, "Technology is entering a new era, with AI fundamentally reshaping how businesses operate and create value. Infosys begins this next phase from a position of enormous strength—with a clearly articulated AI strategy, exceptional talent, deep client relationships, and values that have earned the trust of customers globally. My commitment is to build on those strengths while accelerating innovation, expanding our capabilities and helping our clients succeed in an increasingly AI-driven world."
54-year-old Ashiss Kumar Dash is an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur graduate with a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering. He currently serves as Executive Vice President and Global Head – Services, Utilities, Resources, Energy & Enterprise Sustainability at Infosys.
Dash has spent nearly 30 years with the company across a range of leadership roles, including serving as a senior manager in the Utilities practice, where he managed a portfolio of utility clients in the western United States between 2008 and 2015. He later served as Vice President and Industry Head of the Resources & Utilities vertical.
Dash also serves on the Boards of Infosys Public Services and MRE Consulting LLC, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Infosys. He has completed the Global Leadership Program at Stanford University and the Senior Executive Program at London Business School.
