Block deal worth ₹1,949 crore lifts Meesho as major pre-IPO backers trim stakes amid strong Q1 operating metrics

Shares of Meesho rose in early trade on Tuesday after 10.48 crore shares, representing 2.27% of the company’s equity, changed hands in a block deal worth ₹1,949 crore.

The transaction was executed at ₹186 per share. According to reports, Peak XV Partners and Elevation Capital are likely sellers in the deal. Both investors were among Meesho’s largest shareholders before the company’s IPO, continue to hold significant stakes, and had pared part of their holdings at the time of the listing.

The stock opened at ₹192.50 and rose to an intraday high of ₹195.90. Meesho’s market capitalisation stood at ₹88,320 crore. The stock has touched a 52-week high of ₹254.40 and a 52-week low of ₹125.56.

Strong June quarter performance

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Meesho reported a 34% year-on-year increase in net merchandise value (NMV) to ₹11,614 crore from ₹8,679 crore a year earlier. Placed orders grew 29% year-on-year to 725 million, while annual transacting users increased 29% to 274 million. Purchase frequency improved to 10.3 transactions per user annually.

Marketplace revenue from operations rose 48% year-on-year to ₹3,707 crore, driven by lower cancellations, reduced return-to-origin (RTO) rates and higher platform monetisation.

Contribution margin expanded to 4.6% of NMV, up 54 basis points sequentially, while marketplace adjusted EBITDA improved to negative 1.2% of NMV. Last-twelve-month free cash flow improved by around 15% to negative ₹537 crore from negative ₹633 crore in the previous quarter.

“Our Q1 performance reflects the strength of Meesho’s operating model. We delivered 34% year-on-year NMV growth, while Contribution Margin expanded to 4.6%, Marketplace Adjusted EBITDA improved to (1.2%) of NMV, and Last Twelve Months Free Cash Flow improved by approximately 15%,” said Dhiresh Bansal, Chief Financial Officer at Meesho.

The company said it processed nearly 725 million orders during the quarter, averaging more than 90 orders every second.

Annual transacting sellers grew 81% year-on-year to more than 1.04 million, with 45% based in Tier-2 and smaller towns. Meesho Mall crossed 1,200 brands during the quarter, while content commerce NMV grew 141% year-on-year. The company’s cash balance stood at ₹6,521 crore as of June 30.
