Netflix and hoichoi unite to bring Bengali stories to global audiences with new adaptations and premieres.

Netflix and Bengali-first streaming platform hoichoi have joined forces to bring acclaimed series, new premieres and adaptations to audiences across India and globally. Under the partnership, all hoichoi series premiering over the next two years will also be available on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, exclusively on the platform.

The partnership will also see the two companies collaborate on original series produced by hoichoi Studios, which will reimagine select hoichoi stories through new adaptations.

14 hoichoi titles coming to Netflix

Netflix will add 14 existing hoichoi titles to its catalogue, spanning crime thrillers, detective mysteries, folklore horror, social and courtroom dramas and romance. The titles include Madam Inspector, Sampurna, Lajja, Eken Sirji, Anjaan Saaye, The Curse of Parnashavari, Bloodlines, The Adventures of Daadi & Jagga, Raat Abhi Baaki Hain, Achinta: Trial By Law, Shaadi Ka Siyappa, Queens, Parineeta: A Love Story and Mahanagar.

New hoichoi releases will also debut on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu alongside their Bengali release on hoichoi. The first of these is The Cursed Temple of Kauriburi, a folklore horror series starring Jeetu Kamal, Solanki Roy and Paoli Dam. It is set to premiere on November 6, with more titles to follow in the coming months.

The companies said the partnership will bring existing favourites to new viewers while creating opportunities to develop original adaptations.

Netflix said it is continuing to expand its licensed content offering alongside its original programming, adding more third-party stories to its service. The company said its global audience of approaching one billion people makes it a strong partner for studios, networks and creators.

The partnership is positioned as a way to expand the reach of Bengali storytelling beyond its core language audience. For Netflix, it adds regional content across multiple languages, while hoichoi gets a wider distribution route for its existing catalogue and upcoming originals. Further details on the adaptations will be announced soon jointly.

hoichoi is a Bengali entertainment platform offering more than 2,000 hours of content, including over 100 original series, films, shorts and docu-series. Launched in 2017 as SVF’s new media venture, it expanded into theatrical filmmaking with the launch of hoichoi Studios in 2023.
