Reliance Retail Limited has acquired the beauty and wellness brand Pahadi Local along with its business from Pahadi Goodness Private Limited, expanding the retail giant’s portfolio of homegrown consumer brands. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition is part of Reliance Retail’s broader play to build and scale Indian brands in fast-growing segments such as beauty, wellness and personal care.

The retailer is betting on rising consumer demand for natural, ingredient-led beauty products. Pahadi Local has built a niche identity around traditional Himalayan formulations and ethically sourced ingredients.

Commenting on the acquisition, Isha Ambani, executive director at Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, said the brand’s philosophy aligns with Reliance’s focus on building authentic Indian brands.

“Pahadi Local’s roots in Himalayan wellness traditions and its commitment to responsible sourcing make it a compelling addition to our beauty ecosystem,” Ambani said.

Reliance plans to scale the brand using its extensive retail network, digital commerce platforms and supply chain capabilities.

What makes Pahadi Local unique?

Founded in 2018, the brand focuses on skincare products derived from traditional Himalayan ingredients. One of its flagship products is Gutti Ka Tel, an apricot kernel oil used for skin and hair care.

Pahadi Local sources many of its ingredients from the Himalayan region, including Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, and works with women-led self-help groups to support local livelihoods. The brand stresses clean formulations, minimal processing and sustainable sourcing.
