Here’s why India could be shining after all. Since 2005, compact fluoescent lamps’ (CFLs) sales have grown at 25%, while incandescent bulb sales have risen 3% during the same period. At Havell’s testing facility in Neemrana, Rajasthan, CFLs burn bright for 10,000 hours and only then is the batch declared fit to hit the market.
