“I urge all to join PM Narendra Modi’s call for swadeshi by adopting indigenous products and services,” Vaishnaw said in his post on X. Reacting to Vaishnaw’s post, Sridhar Vembu, founder of Zoho, expressed gratitude for Vaishnaw migrating to Zoho. “Thank you, sir, this is a huge morale boost for our engineers who have worked hard for over two decades to build our product suite. We will make you proud and make our nation proud,” posted Vembu on X.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a letter to the nation, has exhorted the people to buy and support Made in India products. He invoked the imagery of the sweat and toil of an Indian involved in the making of swadeshi (indigenous) products—irrespective of the brand or company that makes the products—as the definition of a swadeshi product.

“Every time you buy a product made by our own artisans, workers, and industries, you are helping many families earn their living and creating job opportunities for the youth…I also urge state governments to encourage industry, manufacturing, and improvement of the investment climate,” his letter reads.

Sanjay Puri averred in a post on LinkedIn that the clarion call for a ‘swadeshi’ movement to build a strong Atmanirbhar Bharat is truly inspirational. “Indeed, this is India’s moment to invest even more in innovation to create world-class swadeshi products that not only delight the large domestic market but also outshine competition globally, bringing pride to our nation”.
