The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), in association with the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), organised an industry meet in Patiala to raise awareness among micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) about the National Pension System (NPS) and its benefits.

The workshop focused on how MSME owners can use NPS as part of long-term financial security and retirement planning for their employees. PFRDA has been conducting awareness and training programmes on NPS and other pension schemes as part of its mandate to educate subscribers and the general public on pension-related issues.

Industry highlights role of social security

The industry meet began with a welcome address by Rakesh Bhalla, chairman, Chandigarh UT Development Council, ASSOCHAM.

Bhalla welcomed industry stakeholders from Patiala and highlighted the importance of robust social security frameworks in strengthening regional businesses and the local economy, according to the organisers.

PFRDA explains NPS benefits and onboarding

Abhishek Dhiman, assistant manager, PFRDA, conducted a detailed session on the architecture and core benefits of NPS.

The session explained how business owners can leverage NPS for long-term financial security and retirement planning for their workforce.
