Prices of vegetables, especially key ingredients in cooking like tomatoes and okra, rose sharply after unseasonal rains damaged produce last month, fuelling inflation. Centre’s excise cut on petrol and diesel after a drubbing in the by-polls has reduced vegetable prices in most states. But is this relief only until the UP elections?
