Shares of CP Plus brand operator Aditya Infotech hit the 5% upper circuit in opening trade on Wednesday after the surveillance and security equipment maker launched a qualified institutional placement (QIP) to raise up to ₹1,500 crore.

Aditya Infotech shares opened at ₹3,689.80 against the previous close of ₹3,644 and quickly climbed to their upper price band of ₹3,826.20. At 9:36 am, 7,579 shares had changed hands, with turnover at around ₹2.86 crore. The company’s market capitalisation stood at around ₹45,264 crore.

The Noida-based Aditya Infotech, which made its stock market debut on August 5, 2025, hit an all-time high of ₹4,094.50 on August 13, 2026, surging nearly 507% from its IPO price of ₹675 per share. The stock had hit a 52-week low of ₹1,228.85 on September 12, 2025.

The counter has delivered more than 150% return in calendar year 2026, while it has rallied 133% in the past six months and 12% over the past month.

QIP opened on Sept 22

In an exchange filing on Tuesday, Aditya Infotech said its QIP opened on September 22 following approval from its QIP committee. The company has fixed the floor price at ₹3,648.43 per equity share, based on the pricing formula prescribed under the Sebi ICDR Regulations.

The company said the QIP committee, at its meeting on September 22, authorised the opening of the issue, approved the floor price and adopted the preliminary placement document dated September 22.

The proceeds from the QIP is likely to be used for debt repayment by the company and its subsidiaries, financing capital expenditure requirements, funding inorganic growth and general corporate purposes.

As per the release, the company can offer a discount of up to 5% on the floor price, subject to the approval already received from shareholders. “The final issue price will be determined in consultation with the lead managers appointed for the issue.”

The QIP follows approval from Aditya Infotech’s board on August 19 and a special resolution passed by shareholders through postal ballot on September 19.
