MSCI India’s broader Small Cap Index will see 12 additions and 19 deletions in the August 2026 review.

Global index provider MSCI has added four Indian securities - Laurus Labs, Lenskart Solutions, Adani Energy Solutions and Billionbrains Garage Ventures, the parent of Groww - to the MSCI India Index as part of its August 2026 index review.
The changes will be implemented after the close of trading on August 31, 2026, and will take effect from September 1. India has four additions and no deletions in the MSCI India Index as part of the review, MSCI notified on August 12.
The inclusion of the four stocks in the widely tracked benchmark is expected to increase their visibility among global institutional investors and could potentially lead to passive fund inflows tracking MSCI indices. The actual quantum of flows will depend on changes in stock weights and on the assets benchmarked to the index.
Among the additions, Laurus Labs represents the pharmaceutical sector, while Adani Energy Solutions is an energy and utilities-focused company. Lenskart Solutions, which recently entered the listed market, represents India's rapidly expanding consumer and eyewear business, while Billionbrains Garage Ventures is the parent company of Groww.
The latest review comes at a time when India's weight and representation in global equity benchmarks have been closely watched by investors amid strong domestic market growth and a steady expansion in the country's listed equity universe.
MSCI's broader India small-cap index will also see reshuffle. The MSCI India Domestic Small Cap Index will add 12 securities and delete 19 securities.
The additions to the small-cap index include Amagi Media Labs, Ather Energy, Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions, E2E Networks, Embassy Developments, Patanjali Foods, Rubicon Research, Sedemac Mechatronics, Sky Gold and Diamonds, United Breweries, Urban Company and WeWork India Management.
On the deletion side, the small-cap index will remove Aurionpro Solutions, CMS Info Systems, Entero Healthcare Solutions, GMR Power & Urban Infra, ICRA, LatentView Analytics, Laurus Labs, MAS Financial Services, Mastek, MOIL, Network18 Media & Investments, Nippon Life India Asset Management, PTC India, Rallis India, Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilisers, RattanIndia Power, Star Cement, Transrail Lighting and Valor Estate.
The MSCI India Index currently has 165 constituents, according to its latest available factsheet, with financials, consumer discretionary and industrials among its largest sector exposures.
At the global level, MSCI ACWI Index (Morgan Stanley Capital International All Country World Index) will see 55 additions and 92 deletions, while its Small Cap Index will have 203 additions and 261 deletions.
The MSCI Emerging Markets Index will add and delete securities, with Z.AI Co H, Nanya Technology and Guangdong Dtech Technology A among the three largest additions by full company market capitalisation. Meanwhile, the MSCI Frontier Markets Index will see six additions and five deletions, led by Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Oman India Fertiliser Company and Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank.
