From November 1, 2026, brokers will be required to display the specified investor awareness messages on the landing page of their websites.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has directed stock brokers to prominently display investor awareness messages on their websites and trading apps as part of its nationwide investor awareness initiative, Project Jagrook, and ahead of World Investor Week 2026.
The regulator said the move is aimed at improving investor safety, awareness, and education. The directive builds on its May 19, 2023 circular, which required stock brokers to display specified risk disclosures to their clients.
Under the latest circular, stock brokers will have to display the investor awareness messages shared by Sebi along with the existing risk disclosures on their websites from October 5 to October 31, 2026.
From November 1, 2026, brokers will be required to display the specified investor awareness messages on the landing page of their websites.
For trading apps, the regulator has adopted a phased approach. Between October 5 and October 31, stock brokers may display the investor awareness messages on their trading apps on a voluntary basis. During this period, if a broker chooses to display the specified message on any day, displaying the existing risk disclosures will be optional.
From November 1 onwards, brokers will be required to mandatorily display both the investor awareness messages and risk disclosures on their trading apps, wherever such apps are offered.
The messages and risk disclosures will have to be displayed on alternate days and must appear on the landing page of the trading app.
Sebi said the investor awareness messages may be modified from time to time.
Sebi has also directed stock exchanges and depositories to inform their members and participants about the provisions of the circular and disseminate the details on their websites.
They have also been asked to display the investor awareness messages provided by Sebi on their websites without modification.
In addition, stock exchanges and depositories will have to make necessary amendments to their relevant bye-laws, rules and regulations to facilitate implementation of the new requirements.
Sebi clarified that all other provisions of its May 19, 2023 circular on risk disclosures will remain unchanged.
The latest circular has been issued under Section 11(1) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, which empowers the regulator to protect investors and promote and regulate the securities market.
The measures are part of Sebi's broader investor-awareness efforts under Project Jagrook and the upcoming World Investor Week 2026.
