Shares of Yatharth Hospital and Trauma Care Services jumped nearly 10% on Thursday after global private equity firm Advent International agreed to invest ₹3,150 crore in the healthcare company for a 24.9% stake.

The investment will be made through primary capital, with the transaction subject to customary closing conditions, Yatharth Hospitals said in an exchange filing. Upon completion, Advent will acquire a significant minority stake in the company.

Cheering the news, Yatharth Hospital shares gained as much as 9.67% to hit a fresh 52-week high of ₹1,077.90 on the BSE. The market capitalisation of the Noida-based hospital chain operator rose to ₹10,348 crore, with more than 1 lakh shares changing hands on the exchange.

Capital infusion to accelerate expansion

The investment marks a major capital infusion for Yatharth Hospitals as it looks to accelerate its expansion and strengthen its healthcare network across North India.

Following the transaction, the promoter Tyagi family will remain the company's largest shareholder and continue to guide its long-term strategy, the company said.

Founded in 2008, Yatharth Hospitals operates nine multi-speciality hospitals with around 2,800 beds and an announced capacity of around 3,250 beds. The company has expanded its network through both organic and inorganic growth.
