Apple has expanded its smart home portfolio with a new smart display, an upgraded smart speaker, and a new Apple TV 4K, as the company looks to bring Siri AI and Apple Intelligence deeper into the home. Of the products announced, three are confirmed for India: Apple HomeView, HomePod mini 2 and the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K.

Apple HomeView is priced at ₹39,900 in India, with both the tabletop and wall-mounted versions carrying the same price. Pre-orders have opened, with sales beginning November 13. The HomePod mini 2 is priced at ₹18,900 and will be available from October 30, while the new Apple TV 4K is priced at ₹39,900 and will also go on sale from November 13.

The company has also announced the Apple Home Collection, a range of cameras, a video doorbell, smart lock, thermostats, and temperature sensors developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. However, Apple has not announced India availability for these products yet. The Home Collection is set to begin rolling out from December, with some accessories coming in early 2027.

Apple HomeView brings a smart display to India

HomeView is Apple’s first dedicated smart home display, combining a 7-inch Liquid Retina screen, speaker system, video calling, and smart home controls. It is designed as a shared household device, while still allowing different family members to access personalised information.

The device can recognise up to six people and provide each user with a personalised Home Screen, including their own apps and widgets. When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri AI can use personal context from apps such as Messages and Calendar. Apple says personal information is protected through its privacy architecture, with sensitive processing handled on-device or through Private Cloud Compute.

HomeView is powered by Apple’s A18 chip and includes a 12MP camera for FaceTime and user recognition. It can also serve as a home hub, allowing users to control compatible smart home accessories, create automations and monitor connected cameras. The Home Camera interface can display up to nine camera feeds simultaneously.

Siri AI is available on HomeView in India in English. Users can ask questions, have conversational interactions, and perform tasks using voice commands. With a compatible iPhone or iPad, Siri can also use personal context to carry out tasks such as finding information shared in Messages or setting reminders.

“Apple HomeView is designed to be shared by everyone in the home yet feel completely personal to each user,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

The tabletop HomeView is available in silver, starlight, rose pink and space grey. The wall-mounted version is available in silver and space grey. Both cost ₹39,900 in India, although wall-mounting accessories are sold separately.

Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 get Siri AI

Apple has also refreshed its living-room products with the new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2. The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K is powered by the A19 chip, which Apple says delivers up to 50% faster CPU performance and twice the GPU performance compared with the previous generation.

The device brings Siri AI to the television through a full-screen, conversational interface. Users can search for movies and shows, ask questions and discover content using voice commands. Built-in far-field microphones allow users to speak to Siri hands-free. The Siri Remote also gets Find My support, including Precision Finding and the ability to play a sound to locate it.

Apple is also using the new Apple TV 4K as a central part of its smart home strategy. It can control compatible accessories and scenes, display doorbell notifications and provide AI-generated descriptions of camera activity and summarised notifications in the Home app.

“The new Apple TV 4K is our most immersive home theater experience yet,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “With Siri AI, finding something to watch becomes a full-screen, conversational experience, and with built-in far-field microphones, it’s completely hands-free.”

For the first time, Apple TV 4K can also be paired with four HomePod mini 2 speakers to create a four-speaker surround sound setup. The speakers can automatically recognise their positions and calibrate audio timing and levels to the room.

The new Apple TV 4K is priced at ₹39,900 in India and will be available from November 13. Siri AI will be available in India in English as a beta feature.

HomePod mini 2, meanwhile, gets the S10 chip, improved computational audio and five colour options: pink, green, blue, white and midnight. Siri AI is coming to the speaker through a future software update. Apple says it will be available in India in English.

“HomePod mini 2 brings together Siri AI, gorgeous new colors, and incredible audio,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Home Product Marketing. “With Siri AI, it understands you better than ever, drawing on personal context and broad world knowledge to make music discovery even richer.”

HomePod mini 2 is priced at ₹18,900 in India and will be available from October 30. It can also act as a smart home hub, allowing users to control compatible accessories and run automations through voice commands.

Apple Home Collection brings cameras, smart lock, and thermostats

Alongside its own devices, Apple is expanding the range of hardware that can work within Apple Home through its new Home Collection. The lineup has been developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric and includes indoor and outdoor cameras, a video doorbell, smart deadbolt lock, thermostats, and temperature sensors.

The accessories can be set up using an iPhone and managed through Apple’s Home app, without requiring a separate app or account. LG’s lineup includes an Indoor Cam, Outdoor Cam, Floodlight Cam, and Video Doorbell, while the range also includes a smart deadbolt and thermostats from LG and Schneider Electric.

The cameras support features such as recognising people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles, and packages. Apple says video is protected through its HomeKit Secure Video architecture, with iCloud+ allowing users to store video history and receive activity notifications.

“Apple Home Collection makes it easy to choose smart home accessories with confidence,” said Matthew Costello, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering. “Working closely with industry leaders LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, we designed every accessory to work seamlessly with Apple Home, so managing your home is simple, reliable, and private.”

The Home Collection will begin arriving from December, with select accessories scheduled for early 2027. However, Apple has not announced an India launch for the cameras, doorbell, smart lock, or thermostats. For now, Apple’s India smart home push is centred on HomeView, HomePod mini 2 and the new Apple TV 4K.
