The companies said in a joint statement that AI-first features built with Google Gemini will be introduced through boAt’s new ‘Crest AI’ lineup. The platform is designed to bring voice-driven, conversational and personalised AI experiences to audio devices. Crest AI will use Gemini Live to let users have more natural conversations with their devices. Unlike traditional voice assistants that typically handle simple commands, the new system is designed to understand context, regional nuances and more complex queries in real time.

The companies said the collaboration aims to make advanced AI features available to millions of users across India, including those speaking different regional dialects. “Our mission at boAt has always been to build something bold and impactful, making cutting-edge technology accessible to everyone. By integrating Google's Gemini into our Crest AI devices, we are taking a massive leap forward,” said Gaurav Nayyar, CEO of boAt.

“We are moving beyond basic voice assistants to create intelligent, conversational agents for general voice queries, device control, music playback, productivity, language translation and FAQ support. Partnering with Google Cloud allows us to scale this vision and redefine the future of ambient computing in India and beyond,” he added.

What boAt's AI devices can do

The Crest AI devices will also connect with Google Workspace, allowing users to access Gmail, Google Tasks and Google Calendar through voice. This means users can perform tasks such as responding to emails or scheduling meetings without reaching for their phones. boAt is also introducing Crest Translate for real-time, two-way translation. Crest Ask, meanwhile, will allow users to ask questions, learn, brainstorm or have conversations while listening to audio.

The integration is built on Google Cloud infrastructure and Gemini Live's multimodal capabilities through the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.

Sashi Sreedharan, Managing Director, Google Cloud India, said, “boAt is one of India's foremost wearable brands, and their push to bring cutting-edge AI to consumers is exactly the kind of innovation we want to support.”
