Google also revealed that Google Store subscribers who are signed up by 19 August, 12.30 PM will get an exclusive offer to use with Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL phones.
Google dropped its latest announcement teaser for Pixel 10. There were quite many reasons for it to be in the news. One, Pixel 10 is being launched on August 20-21 at the Made by Google event. Two, Google did what Nokia once did – rebuking Apple.
The latest ad had a voice over that said, “If you buy a new phone because of a feature that’s coming soon. But it’s been coming soon for a full year. You could change your definition of soon or you could just change your phone.” A direct allusion to Apple’s failed AI efforts that has not arrived even now.
Google has a solution to ask more of one’s phone and claims to resolve the problem of AI with its latest Google Pixel 10. While the video gives a sneak peek on the design of the latest flagship, here is a deep dive on what we know so far about the Pixel 10.
Google also revealed that Google Store subscribers who are signed up by 19 August, 12.30 PM will get an exclusive offer to use with Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL phones.
The offer will be sent on the day that the phones are available for pre-order.
Google Pixel 10: Key features expected
The teaser seems to confirm the long-drawn hypothesis of Pixel 10 resembling its predecessor Pixel 9. Design changes are minimal, the lineup is expected to bring major software upgrades, AI-powered features, and hardware enhancements.
Design and Display
The phone will have a matte metal body with a flat aluminum-and-glass frame, subtle taper on edges for comfort. The three rear cameras are fixed in a horizontal pill-shaped bar with an LED flash. The bump is prominent but symmetrical. The screen is speculated to be 6.3-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, thinner bezels, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The phone reportedly will be made available in three to four colour variants including Obsidian Black, Silver White and Iris or Indigo.
Performance and Software
This is where our speculations begin. The new Google Tensor G5 (TSMC-made, 3nm) is set to debut with the phone, with a 1+5+2 CPU cluster, featuring Cortex-A725 and Cortex-A520 cores. Android 16 out of the box. A 5,000mAh battery with 29W wired and 25W wireless charging. The phone is expected to support Qi2 wireless charging with magnetic alignment.
There may be upgrades to the rear cameras with telemacro mode getting introduced but, the front camera will surely become a better selfie shooter. Additionally, there is expected to be something called the camera coach, a real-time, Gemini-powered photo guidance for framing, lighting, and angles. There also is expectation that a gimbal-level stabilisation is introduced for a steadier video.
The Camera Coach will pave way for a conversational photo editing using which users can edit photos using voice or text commands including changing backgrounds, brightening images, and removing objects.
The pricing is expected to be slightly bumped from Pixel 9 not a big hike. Yet indeed AI will be big on Google, even though it will lack what OnePlus and Nothing have been offering – an exclusive AI button.
