L&T Semiconductor, Tata Electronics partner to scale India-designed chips for global markets
The strategic partnership combines LTSCT’s fabless design capabilities with Tata Electronics’ foundry, packaging and testing infrastructure across key semiconductor applications.
L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT), the wholly owned semiconductor arm of Larsen & Toubro, and Tata Electronics have entered into a strategic partnership to expand indigenous manufacturing of chip products in India. The collaboration will target next-generation products across automotive, industrial, communications, security and intelligent-edge sectors.
The partnership combines LTSCT’s fabless design capabilities with Tata Electronics’ semiconductor packaging and foundry capabilities. The companies will jointly explore fabrication and packaging opportunities for LTSCT’s products across Tata Electronics’ fab process technologies and packaging solutions. The collaboration will also cover chip design-to-fabrication optimisation for manufacturing at scale.
LTSCT targets industrialisation of chip designs

LTSCT is building an India-based portfolio across Power, Compute, Analog/Mixed Signal, IoT modules and RF products for automotive, industrial, energy, data centre and telecommunications markets. It operates across the US, Europe, Japan and India, with offices in Austin, Munich, Tokyo, Bengaluru and Noida.

Established in 2020 as a Tata Group venture, Tata Electronics has capabilities spanning electronics manufacturing services, semiconductor assembly and test, foundry and design services. Its Indian operations span Gujarat, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, alongside overseas offices in the US, Taiwan and Singapore.
Partnership aligned with Semicon 2.0
The partnership aligns with the government’s “Manufacture in India – for India and for the World” vision and Semicon 2.0’s focus on domestic ecosystem development and value addition. The companies will also seek to advance packaging technologies, manufacturing excellence and quality systems as part of India’s semiconductor push.
