Tech accessory company Optiemus Infracom today launched RhinoTech, a new brand of tempered glass screen protectors manufactured in India using glass engineered by U.S.-based Corning Inc.
Announced on Wednesday, this marks the first time such products will be locally produced for both domestic and export markets.
“We are committed to establishing India as a global hub for high-value mobile accessories. It is our aspiration that every Indian mobile phone user enjoys the assurance of a Make in India tempered glass screen protector, certified by Bureau of India Standards (BIS) and marked with a fog stamp for the highest quality and protection,” said Ashok Kumar Gupta, Chairman, Optiemus Infracom Limited, in a statement.
The company projects revenues of ₹1,800–2,000 crore by the end of FY27 from its tempered glass business. Production will take place at the company’s Noida facility. The company has been a distributor of mobile handsets of global brands including Nokia.
RhinoTech products will initially target premium smartphones and expand to the economy segment in the coming months, the company said in its press release. They will be available from late September 2025 via the brand’s official website and authorised retail partners in select cities.

The company stated that India’s domestic tempered glass screen protector market is estimated at 400 million pieces annually, with a retail value of ₹20,000 crore in 2025. Over 90% of demand is currently met by low-cost imports.
On July 28, 2025, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) introduced the world’s first standard for “Chemically Tempered Glass Screen Protectors.” The regulation aims to set quality benchmarks and improve consumer confidence. RhinoTech products will comply with this standard.
