South Korean tech giant Samsung is all set to unveil a broad range of products at its Galaxy Unpacked event in Brooklyn on Wednesday, with the spotlight on its next-generation foldable smartphones. This will include the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.

As always, these new models are expected to bring sleeker designs and improved displays, with the Fold 7 possibly measuring just 4.2mm when unfolded and featuring a large 8-inch main display. The latest foldable by Samsung is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip and could sport a 200MP main camera. The Z Flip 7, on the other hand, is expected to feature a larger 4-inch cover display and run on Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500 processor, with a 50MP primary camera and a 4300mAh battery.

In addition to these flagship foldables, Samsung is reportedly launching a new Fan Edition model, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. This will be the company’s first FE foldable, aimed at a more affordable price point. The edition is expected to carry a lower resolution display, a smaller battery, and be powered by an older Exynos chip.

Samsung is also expected to refresh its smartwatch lineup with the Galaxy Watch 8 series, comprising the standard Watch 8, the premium Watch 8 Classic, and a rugged variant called the Watch Ultra. All models will run on the new Exynos W1000 chip and introduce enhanced health features through the updated One UI 8 Watch interface.

Further announcements may include new details on Samsung’s upcoming XR headset, developed with Google and Qualcomm under Project Moohan. The device will run on Android XR and is Samsung’s entry into spatial computing. A tease of Samsung’s first smart glasses, designed to rival Meta’s Ray-Ban lineup, is also expected.

According to media reports, the event could also preview Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone, likely named Galaxy G Fold. Inspired by the Flex G prototype from CES 2022, the device is expected to feature a G-shaped folding mechanism with a central cover screen and two inward-folding panels. Although it may be unveiled on July 9, the launch is reportedly scheduled for later this year.

The event is also expected to mark the official debut of One UI 8, based on Android 16, which brings advanced security features, Galaxy AI enhancements for foldables, and an updated privacy dashboard.
