The Indian two-wheeler market witnessed robust growth in February 2026, with domestic sales surging across motorcycles and scooters. Strong consumer demand, coupled with favorable policy tailwinds such as the GST rate rationalisation implemented in September 2025, provided a clear boost to volumes.
Refreshed scooter models, rising preference for 100–125cc motorcycles, and growing adoption of electric mobility solutions played a pivotal role in driving sales. Automakers also benefited from renewed consumer confidence and promotional campaigns across urban and semi-urban markets.
Hero MotoCorp dispatched 5,16,968 units domestically, up 44.69% from 3,57,296 units in February 2025. Growth was driven by scooters and 100–125cc motorcycles, with models like Xoom and Destini performing strongly. Hero’s emerging mobility business, Vida, recorded a threefold increase in market share, supported by 12,514 VAHAN registrations, reflecting growing adoption of electric two-wheelers. Globally, Hero posted dispatches of 41,248 units, up ~34% from 30,772 units a year ago.
HMSI reported domestic sales of 5,13,190 units, a 33.67% Y-o-Y jump, with exports of 54,161 units taking total sales to 5,67,351 units. For the YTD FY26 period (April 2025–February 2026), HMSI recorded total sales of 58,20,556 units, comprising 52,37,169 units domestically and 5,83,387 units exported.
TVS Motor Company posted domestic sales of 3,65,471 units, up 32.38% from 2,76,072 units last year. Total monthly sales stood at 5,29,308 units, reflecting a 31% growth compared to February 2025, underlining strong demand for its two- and three-wheeler portfolio.
Bajaj Auto’s domestic two-wheeler sales rose 27.39% to 1,86,164 units from 1,46,138 units in February 2025. Strong traction for Pulsar, Platina, and CT motorcycles, alongside rising demand for the Chetak electric scooter, drove the growth. The company’s focus on premium motorcycles and electric mobility helped sustain its market performance.
Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL) posted domestic sales of 1,01,071 units, up 38% from 73,215 units. Total sales, including exports of 22,228 units, reached 1,23,299 units, reflecting a 33% increase. Deepak Mutreja, VP – Sales & Marketing, credited the growth to strong customer and dealer engagement.
Royal Enfield reported domestic sales of 91,248 units, up 13% from 80,799 units, and total February sales of 1,00,905 units, an 11% increase. B. Govindarajan, MD – Eicher Motors and CEO of Royal Enfield, announced plans to expand production capacity from 14.6 lakh to 20 lakh units over the next 18 months at the Cheyyar facility in Tamil Nadu.
