JSW MG Motor India announces Parth Jindal as chairman

JSW MG Motor India on Monday announced the appointment of Parth Jindal as Chairman of the company, with immediate effect.
As per the company’s announcement, the appointment was approved by the Board of Directors of JSW MG Motor India Private Limited.
Jindal has been associated with the company’s Board since the formation of the joint venture between JSW Group and SAIC Motor. He has been closely involved in shaping the company’s product strategy, manufacturing expansion and localisation programme, the company said.
Apart from his new role at JSW MG Motor India, Jindal serves as Managing Director of JSW Cement and JSW Paints. He is also Chairman of JSW Dulux Limited and a Director on the Board of JSW Energy.
Jindal is also the founder of JSW Sports and serves as Chairman and Co-Owner of the Delhi Capitals.
JSW MG Motor India is a joint venture between the JSW Group and SAIC Motor. The company combines JSW Group’s understanding of the Indian market with SAIC Motor’s automotive technology and global expertise.
Focus on sustainable mobility, advanced technology
The automaker has been focusing on sustainable mobility, advanced technology, localisation and improving customer experience, while expanding its product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities in India.
The company is also strengthening its local supply chain as part of its broader localisation strategy and has committed to building a sustainable mobility ecosystem in the country.
The joint venture has been expanding its presence in India’s passenger vehicle and electric vehicle segments, with a focus on bringing globally available technologies to the domestic market while developing manufacturing capabilities and a stronger local supply chain. Its strategy includes increasing localisation and introducing products aimed at meeting the changing mobility requirements of Indian consumers.
JSW MG Motor India said it has sold more than 1.5 lakh electric vehicles since launching its first EV in India. The company added that the MG Windsor is currently the country’s No. 1 selling electric vehicle.
The appointment of Jindal comes as the company continues to expand its presence in India’s electric vehicle market and strengthen its manufacturing and localisation efforts.
