Mercedes-Benz India has introduced its all-new CLA BEV in India, pricing it between ₹55 lakh and ₹64 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as the brand’s most advanced electric sedan yet, the model has already recorded over 400 confirmed pre-launch bookings, reflecting strong demand from existing luxury car customers.
Built on the new Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA), the CLA BEV marks a key milestone in the company’s electrification roadmap for India. The model is offered in three variants — CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’, CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’, and CLA 250+ ‘Launch Edition’ — catering to a wide spectrum of premium EV buyers.
The CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ delivers up to 792 km (WLTP) on a single charge, while the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ offers up to 542 km. Both variants support ultra-fast DC charging, enabling up to 400 km and 320 km of range addition respectively in just 20 minutes using a 240 kW charger.
The CLA BEV is the first model in India to feature Mercedes-Benz’s proprietary MB.OS operating system, integrated with fourth-generation MBUX. It is powered by NVIDIA-based computing delivering up to 508 trillion operations per second, enabling advanced in-car intelligence, OTA updates and adaptive user experiences.
The vehicle also introduces AI-enabled features including a virtual assistant integrated with ChatGPT-4, Microsoft Bing and Google Maps with electric route intelligence. According to the company, the system bundles the computing power of four main computers, enabling a smoother and more responsive digital interface.
Mercedes-Benz India is supporting the launch with its MB.CHARGE Public network, offering access to over 9,000 charging points nationwide. The company also claims seamless navigation integration to guide users to optimal charging stations.
Financing solutions include EMIs starting at ₹62,000 under the Star Agility programme, along with an assured 59% buyback option. The brand is also offering a 6.99% introductory interest rate and service packages starting at ₹60,000 for four years.
In a first for the industry, Mercedes-Benz has introduced a High Voltage Battery Report system, designed to improve transparency on battery health through diagnostic evaluation at authorised workshops.
With an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty and a software-driven ownership experience, the CLA BEV strengthens Mercedes-Benz India’s positioning in the premium electric mobility space as competition in the luxury EV segment intensifies.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz India is doubling down on its top-end luxury and electric vehicle strategy while maintaining a disciplined “value over volume” approach, as the company reshapes its portfolio mix amid a shifting demand landscape in the premium automotive marke
