Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Bonneville T40, T40 Black and Bonneville T4 in India, with prices starting at ₹2,54,999 for the T4 and ₹2,79,999 for both the T40 and T40 Black (ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings for the three motorcycles will open from October 7. Deliveries of the T40 and T40 Black are scheduled to begin from the second week of November 2026, while deliveries of the Bonneville T4 will start from the second week of January 2027.

350cc engine, classic Bonneville design and modern technology

The new motorcycles are powered by a liquid-cooled 350cc TR Series single-cylinder engine, producing 29 PS at 7,000 rpm and 31 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. Triumph says the engine gets a dedicated tune and revised cylinder head aimed at delivering stronger low-end torque and a more relaxed power delivery.

The three motorcycles retain several of the design elements associated with the Bonneville name, including the sculpted teardrop fuel tank, round LED headlight, longer mudguards, twin rear shocks, spoked wheels and peashooter-style exhaust. The motorcycles also feature heritage-inspired paint schemes and hand-painted coach lining.

The T40 and T40 Black get a four-inch circular TFT instrument display with smartphone connectivity, navigation and music controls. They also feature five riding modes, cruise control, lean-sensitive Optimised Cornering ABS and Optimised Cornering Traction Control. The Bonneville T4 gets a colour LCD with turn-by-turn navigation, three riding modes and dual-channel ABS.

Triumph has also focused on making the motorcycles accessible to a wider set of riders. The standard seat height is 790mm, while an optional low seat reduces it to 770mm. The motorcycles have a ready-to-ride weight of 195kg and feature an upright riding position.

Steve Sargent, Chief Product Officer, Triumph Motorcycles, said, “The Bonneville is one of the most significant motorcycles in Triumph’s history, so introducing a new model carrying that name comes with a responsibility to get it right. From the outset, our ambition was not simply to create a smaller Bonneville, but to create a motorcycle that delivers the style, character and ownership experience riders expect from a genuine Bonneville.”

He added, “Working closely with Bajaj, we challenged ourselves to retain the details and qualities that make a Bonneville special, from the proportions and finish to traditional touches such as hand-painted coach lining, while also introducing a level of technology and rider-focused innovation not previously seen in this category.”

The Bonneville T40 will be offered in three colour schemes, while the T4 will be available in Phantom Black, Carnival Red and Competition Green. The T40 Black gets a darker treatment with Matt Pewter Grey and Matt Phantom Black finishes, along with blacked-out components.

The new models join Triumph and Bajaj Auto’s expanding 400-series portfolio. According to Triumph, the platform has sold more than 1,80,000 motorcycles across over 50 countries. The Bonneville T40 and T4 now take the number of motorcycles on the platform to six, alongside the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Scrambler 400 XC and Tracker 400.
