"Today, to become an economic power, we need industry and agriculture. These are the two important aspects of GDP growth. But at the same time, for industrial and agricultural growth, we need good infrastructure. Water, transport, and communications are the key infrastructure for the economy," Gadkari said.

What is KPMG's Agrasar Bharat?

Addressing the event, Yezdi Nagporewalla, CEO, KPMG India said in the last couple of decades the thought process has changed from India aspiring to become a developed economy to how quickly it can become a developed economy. He said the thought behind KPMG's Agrasar Bharat is ensuring the India's success is meaningful and inclusive.

"For us, it is not just about moving forward but moving forward with purpose, confidence and clear sense of achievement," he said.

Nagporewalla said it is time to build on ten foundations that have already been built.

"We are living in the Times of extraordinary global change. Technology and AI are reshaping the economies and institutions. Geopolitical shifts are changing trade relationships and supply chains," he said.

"Simultaneously, every citizen expects more transparency and quality of life. Our investments in infrastructure, particularly digital infrastructure have laid the foundation for next phase of growth," he said.

"The opportunity in front of us is to build on these foundations to transform scale into productivity and growth into prosperity," he added.
