Quick-commerce arm Amazon Now hits $1 billion annualised sales within a year, fuelled by a fourfold expansion in locations, 750+ micro-fulfilment centres and rising competition with Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart
Amazon Now doubles orders ever

The e-commerce giant has revealed that its quick commerce arma, Amazon Now, reached $1 billion in annualised gross sales over the past three-month period. Driven by order volumes that have doubled every single quarter since its debut, the operation is now officially the fastest-growing e-commerce business unit in Amazon India’s history.

Notably, the milestone comes just over a year after Amazon plunged into the quick-commerce race.

While quick commerce began as an urban race for milk and bread, Amazon’s recent trajectory highlights an aggressive pivot into India’s heartland. In less than 10 weeks, the company expanded the service to four times as many locations, planting delivery outposts across more than 60 cities and towns.

“In a short period of time, Amazon Now has crossed $1 billion in annualised gross sales in India, making it the fastest-growing e-commerce business unit in Amazon India’s history,” said Samir Kumar, country manager at Amazon India.

Rather than restricting ultra-fast drop-offs to top-tier capitals, the footprint now stretches into non-metro hubs such as Padubidri, Tirupati, Guntur, Jalandhar, Dharwad, Vellore, Warangal, and Berhampur, according to the company.

To feed that momentum, Amazon has built out a specialised rapid-fulfillment backbone consisting of over 750 micro-fulfillment and urban fulfillment centers. The local nodes dispatch tens of thousands of items within minutes or a few hours, spanning groceries, fresh produce, frozen items, personal care, fashion, beauty goods, and small kitchen appliances.

“We are humbled by the customer response, with orders doubling every quarter. We are on track to expand to 100 cities by Diwali, taking delivery-in-minutes from Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur in the north to Vembayam and Alamcode in the south,” added Kumar.

Kumar added that heading into the peak festive period, shoppers can anticipate wider selections matched with rapid turnarounds.

Despite a late start, Amazon’s rapid nationwide expansion is turning up the heat on incumbents like Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and Flipkart Minutes. Back in June 2026, Amazon laid out an ambitious roadmap to construct India’s largest delivery-in-minutes network by taking Amazon Now to over 300 cities.

At the same time, the broader marketplace moves over one million products for same-day arrival, delivers more than four million items by the next day, and offers millions more through free, unlimited Prime shipments.
