Dell Technologies is doubling down on India as it rolls out its broadest product refresh yet — featuring AI PCs, premium gaming laptops, and an aggressive retail push, timed to tap into what it sees as a nationwide technology refresh.

“We announced a series of product launches in the last few weeks, culminating with the launch of our Dell Plus with AMD AI PCs,” said Rosandra Silveira, senior vice president and GM, Global Consumer Retail & Outlet Business at Dell Technologies. These lightweight AI PCs start at 1.55 kg, with battery life ranging from 19 to 22 hours, and are priced for accessibility.

On the gaming side, Dell has unveiled its most powerful notebooks yet: the Alienware Area 51 16 and 18-inch models, alongside the Aurora 16X. “The 18-inch is not exactly mobile, it’s a beast,” she said, adding that the new Alienware machines aim to pack desktop-level power into portable formats.

Globally, around 1.5 billion PCs are not AI-ready, and 30–40% of them were built three to four years ago. “Most of them don’t have the minimum requirements to run Windows 11, and many are based here in India,” she pointed out.

India’s demographic and digital trends add to the urgency. Nearly 65% of the population is under 35, and a recent Deloitte survey shows that three-quarters of Gen Zs (74%) and millennials (77%) believe GenAI will impact the way they work within the next year.

Dell has been present in India for over two decades and has had a local manufacturing footprint for 18 years. Today, it sells through more than 6,000 physical stores across 400+ cities, including Dell exclusive stores, Croma, Reliance Digital, and now Flipkart, where it launched this February.

With PC penetration still relatively low but growing steadily, India has clocked growth in PC shipments for eight consecutive quarters and Dell is tailoring its portfolio to a wide base. While the Alienware line is geared toward gamers and creators, the Dell Plus AI PCs are meant for young adults and students.

“We are confident with our go-to-market, with the products we are launching, and with the long-standing relationship we’ve had with India over 20 years. We’re here for the next 20,” summed up Silveira.
