“As of yesterday, we were talking about Silicon Valley. From tomorrow, we will talk about Amaravati Quantum valley. By February 1, India’s first quantum computer will be functional in Amaravati,” Naidu said at PAN IIT Andhra Pradesh summit 2026 on Saturday, where a formal declaration was launched.

He said the upcoming quantum computer being jointly developed by IBM-TCS and L&T would soon begin operations from Amaravati, further strengthening the State's position in advanced technology.

The Chief Minister said the state aimed to manufacture and eventually export quantum computing equipment, creating opportunities for innovation, research and high-technology manufacturing.

On India’s growth trajectory, Naidu said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has prepared a vision for Viksit Bharat 2047. We have prepared a vision for Swarna Andhra by 2047. I am hundred percent sure that by 2047, India will become number one economy globally.”

What are the key tenets of the PanIIT-Andhra pact?

As per the formal declaration that was signed yesterday, a PanIIT-Amaravati World Council will be set up at Amaravati and will be instrumental in Swarna Andhra goals. Pan-IIT World Council in Amaravati will create the world's largest academic and professional networks. The council will also provide recommendations for state's deep tech Policy.

As per the declaration, a Rs 500 crore Pan IIT Amaravati Venture Fund will be established to promote deep tech startups, innovation and investments.

“India's 23 IITs has produced around five lakh IIT graduates, who have made significant contributions across various sectors worldwide. This summit provides a valuable platform for experts from diverse fields to exchange innovative ideas, discuss emerging technologies and explore opportunities for their practical application,” Naidu said.

“Establishment of the Pan-IIT World Council in Amaravati would create one of the world's largest academic and professional networks. The participation of a large number of IIT alumni from across the country was a reflection of Andhra Pradesh's growing reputation,” he added.

“The State would leverage the collective knowledge and expertise of five lakh IIT alumni to accelerate development,” Naidu added.

“Quantum technology companies have indicated that commercial quantum computers could be manufactured within the next two years. Mini quantum test labs, including Q-Shiva systems, were being made available even before the proposed 156-qubit quantum system became operational in Amaravati,” he said.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's national goal of developing one crore AI professionals, the Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh had set a target of contributing 50 lakh AI-skilled professionals towards this national mission.

As per the declaration, the Council will coordinate with educational institutions, industries and startups across Andhra Pradesh to strengthen the State’s innovation ecosystem.

“A decision was taken to establish 10 Industry Chairs in universities and educational institutions in partnership with industries to strengthen research and skill development. A network of 100 global IIT mentors to guide startups and aspiring entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh,” said a release from the state government.

CM Naidu sought the cooperation of IIT professionals to develop Andhra Pradesh as a global knowledge hub. He expressed confidence that the collective efforts of IIT alumni, educational institutions, industry, and the government would contribute to the State's technological and economic development.
