Maruti Suzuki India Limited received a comprehensive 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating for its e-VITARA - India’s First Global EV — from Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India.

The e-VITARA voluntarily participated in the Bharat NCAP assessment, enhancing the Company’s portfolio of 5-star Bharat NCAP-rated vehicles, which also includes All-New Dzire, VICTORIS, and INVICTO.

The ‘Made-in-India, Made-for-the-World’ e VITARA is built on Suzuki’s all-new HEARTECT-e platform, exclusively designed for electric vehicles to provide exceptional strength, structural rigidity, and advanced high-voltage protection. Designed and tested for ‘Sand to Snow’ extreme temperature conditions worldwide, the e-VITARA batteries ensure optimal performance from as high as 60°C to as low as -30°C. Powered by 49kWh and 61kWh battery options, the e VITARA demonstrates superior performance, excellent range, unparalleled comfort, and global safety standards, according to the press release.

Gadkari congratulated Maruti Suzuki on achieving a 5-star rating in both adult and child occupant protection in the Bharat NCAP for its e-VITARA. I am especially glad that Maruti Suzuki has shown real leadership in providing seven airbags as standard across all variants of the e-VITARA.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for e-VITARA, our first Battery Electric Vehicle, is a moment of immense pride for all of us at Maruti Suzuki. Using the Bharat NCAP 5-star rating, we will export the e-VITARA to more than 100 countries around the world.
