Jindal Stainless has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Xavier School of Management (XLRI) to roll out a structured HR Competency Development Programme aimed at strengthening strategic HR leadership within the company.
The nine-month programme will combine academic insights with real-world business context to equip HR professionals with capabilities needed to support the company’s expansion and evolving organisational requirements.
As part of the customised initiative, 25 HR professionals from Jindal Stainless’ corporate office and plant locations will participate in the programme. The learning modules will be delivered through a mix of in-person and virtual sessions, focusing on strengthening core HR competencies, improving processes, and building a future-ready HR function aligned with the company’s business goals.
Commenting on the initiative, Abhyuday Jindal said organisations are only as strong as their people and the systems that enable them to succeed.
“As Jindal Stainless continues to scale production to serve a growing customer base, it becomes increasingly important for us to build a future-ready leadership pipeline. Our MoU with XLRI reflects our commitment to nurturing talent and equipping teams with strategic capabilities required to drive innovation, lead change and support the organisation’s next phase of growth,” he said.
The programme will focus on developing eight core competencies, including business acumen, stakeholder management, culture building, strategic thinking, data analytics, design thinking, problem-solving and critical thinking, as well as change management. It will include 19 interactive sessions of three hours each, internal implementation projects and five in-person learning modules.
According to Sushil Baveja, the role of HR has expanded significantly beyond traditional functions. “The HR function today requires stronger business understanding, analytical capabilities and the ability to navigate complex organisational dynamics. This programme is designed to enable our HR teams to act as strategic partners to the business and deliver tangible impact on HR processes,” he said.
Through such structured learning initiatives, Jindal Stainless aims to strengthen its workforce development, nurture leadership talent and foster a culture of continuous learning and organisational growth.
