Nepal's well-known Khukri Rum has entered the Indian market, aiming to reach premium consumers. The Singapore-headquartered MCKT Beverages' Indian arm will launch the brand. Reportedly, the brand aims to sell 20,000 bottles of rum by FY26.
The beverage will initially be available only in three states — Uttar Pradesh, Goa, and Maharashtra — with further expansion to other parts of the country to follow. The rum’s price range is expected to be between ₹1,700 and ₹2,000.
The rum is produced by Nepal's first distillery. The current variants launching in India will include three premium expressions — Khukri XXX Rum, with notes of caramel toffee, vanilla, prune, and honey complemented by hints of Himalayan herbs and fruits; Khukri Spiced Rum, prepared with assorted spices such as cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, and dry fruits; and Khukri White Rum, with tropical notes and a creamy character, perfect for refined cocktails and refreshing serves.
