For Rolls-Royce, true luxury lies in storytelling. Every Bespoke creation is conceived as a deeply personal narrative, translated into paint, leather, wood and metal with extraordinary craftsmanship.

The one-of-one Phantom Regatta is no exception. Inspired by the racing yachts that grace England's southern coastline and the timeless regattas of the Solent, the latest Phantom Extended commission transforms the romance of life at sea into an automotive masterpiece.

Phantom Regatta, will be unveiled during the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed being held between July 8 and July 12. This model applauds the celebrated sailing culture of the English South Coast, including the historic Cowes Week. The inspiration is especially meaningful given that these waters, together with neighbouring Chichester Harbour, are visible from the Goodwood Estate, while West Wittering — home to Sir Henry Royce's beloved residence, Elmstead — lies just a few miles from the marque's headquarters.

Its exterior captures the essence of the sea through an elegant hand-painted two-tone finish. A rich Regatta Blue upper body flows into an English White lower section, echoing the graceful line where a yacht's hull meets the water. Completing the nautical aesthetic are 22-inch fully polished disc wheels whose mirror-like finish recalls the gleaming steel winches found aboard racing yachts.

Step inside and the maritime inspiration becomes even more immersive. Navy Blue leather envelops the front cabin, while the rear suite is finished in Grace White, evoking billowing sails cutting through open waters. Turchese embroidery on the iconic RR monograms mirrors the brilliant turquoise hues of shallow coastal waters, while dual-tone stitching, piping and the steering wheel seamlessly tie the palette together.

The craftsmanship reaches another level through the exquisite woodwork. Piano Milori veneer is paired with Open Pore Royal Walnut across the Waterfall, rear doors and picnic tables, all hand-finished in satin. The picnic tables alone demanded around 120 hours of meticulous craftsmanship. Constructed from 16 precisely matched walnut 'planks', arranged to create a symmetrical bookmatched grain, they faithfully recreate the appearance of a luxury yacht's teak deck. Fine strips of Black Bolivar wood, each only two millimetres wide and cut from a single piece, replicate the elegant caulking that separates traditional deck planks.

“Phantom Regatta is the work of our designers, engineers and craftspeople at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood, inspired by the waters on their doorstep. It brings the spirit of yachting -- its colours, materials and sense of speed -- into the calm of a Phantom Extended,” explains Phil Fabre de la Grange, head of Bespoke at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “More than this, it shows what Bespoke at Rolls-Royce can do: tell an elegant story in paint, leather, wood and metal, each crafted by hand to the highest possible standard.”

That philosophy is evident in every detail of the commission, where the traditions of yacht building are reimagined through the marque's unrivalled craftsmanship.

The artistic centrepiece of Phantom Regatta is Watercolour, a hand-painted gallery artwork stretching across the fascia. Created by the marque's in-house artist using specially developed paints on open-pore wood, the piece captures the movement, depth and fluidity of the sea through a bespoke blending technique perfected over two weeks of experimentation.

Above, a Bespoke Starlight Headliner featuring 1,307 individually hand-placed fibre-optic stars recreates the swirling tidal currents surrounding the Isle of Wight, while Illuminated Doors add another ethereal dimension to the cabin experience.

As with every exceptional Bespoke commission, the most meaningful details are often the most discreet. Hidden within the 'eyeball' air vents are engraved geographic coordinates, visible only when the vents are tilted forward. One marks Goodwood House, the other the Home of Rolls-Royce, permanently anchoring Phantom Regatta to the landscape, heritage and waters that inspired its creation.
