Swiggy has appointed former Myntra CEO Nandita Sinha as the chief executive officer of Instamart, to lead its quick commerce business at a time when competition in the sector continues to intensify and the company sharpens its focus on growth alongside improving profitability. She will assume the role on August 3, succeeding Amitesh Jha.
The appointment comes as Instamart enters its next phase of expansion after scaling rapidly over the past few years. Swiggy said Sinha will build on the platform’s differentiated assortment strategy, customer focus, operational excellence and improving profitability metrics.
Swiggy managing director and group CEO Sriharsha Majety said Sinha brings deep consumer internet experience and strong execution capabilities to the business.
“I am delighted to welcome Nandita Sinha as the CEO of Instamart. Nandita is one of India’s most accomplished consumer internet leaders, and I’m enthusiastic about the vision, customer obsession and operational rigor she brings to the team we’ve built at Instamart,” he said.
Majety also credited outgoing CEO Amitesh Jha for steering Instamart through a crucial phase of growth.
According to him, Jha strengthened Instamart’s differentiation through initiatives such as Noice, improved the business’ contribution margin journey and helped build a strong operating culture while scaling the platform.
Sinha said she was looking forward to leading the next chapter of the business.
“I have long admired what the team at Instamart has built. It’s a business with a strong customer first culture, great talent and significant opportunities ahead. Instamart sits at the heart of how India shops for its everyday needs, and I look forward to working with our colleagues, partners and consumers to shape its next chapter of growth,” she said.

Before moving to Swiggy, Sinha led Myntra, where she oversaw the fashion marketplace’s growth into India’s largest fashion ecommerce platform while continuing to gain market share after achieving EBITDA profitability in 2024. Over a career spanning more than two decades, she has held leadership roles at Flipkart, Britannia and Hindustan Unilever.
As part of the leadership transition, Sharon Pais is reported to take over as the head of Myntra and will report to Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy.
The leadership change comes at a pivotal time for Instamart. In the March quarter of FY26, the quick commerce business posted a 68.8% year on year increase in gross order value to ₹7,881 crore. Average order value rose 32.8% to ₹700, while contribution margin improved to negative 1.8%. The business operated 1,143 dark stores across 130 cities covering 4.8 million square feet, although adjusted EBITDA loss for the quarter stood at ₹858 crore.
Swiggy has maintained that it remains focused on steadily improving unit economics while expanding the business.
