From daily commutes and late-night rides to weekend getaways and intercity travel, Uber, in its annual data report ‘How India Ubered’, said the company logged a record year in the country as trips spanned 11.6 billion kilometres, which is a growth of 26.5% from 2024. “To put this into perspective, that’s over 3.2 million trips from Srinagar to Kanyakumari in the year, or 8,840 times every single day,” the report said.
Uber India’s comprehensive data analysis reveals interesting insights, including cities with the highest Uber usage, total distance covered by Uber rides, intercity travel trends, late-night travel patterns, and evolving rider preferences across the country. The report underscores the growing role of ridesharing in India’s mobility ecosystem.
In terms of rider behavour, Kochi topped, recording the highest average rider rating at 4.91 out of 5. An impressive 98.3 percent of trips in Kochi were rated a full five stars by drivers. Thiruvananthapuram followed closely with an average rating of 4.87, while Pune and Chandigarh also featured among cities with the most highly rated riders.
In terms of mass and premium mobility offerings, Uber says it saw strong adoption. “Indians travelled 365 million kilometers in Uber EVs in 2025, spending a total of 54 million hours in electric vehicles, reinforcing the shift towards greener mobility choices.”

Uber Black, available across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, with airport and work travel being two of the top use cases, recorded over 34 million kilometers of travel during the year. Uber Courier saw around 3 million users trying the service for the first time during 2025. “One user alone completed as many as 5,218 deliveries over the year.” Additionally, Uber Shuttle recorded nearly 800,000 first-time users experiencing app-based bus travel.
Top 5 cities in India with the highest number of Uber rides in 2025, in no set order, included Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune. The top 5 cities in terms of the fastest average speeds clocked on the roads, in descending order, were Bhubaneswar, Thiruvananthapuram, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh.
Uber says it Uber Pet service also continued to delight riders, with “pets travelling close to 800,000 kilometers in Ubers during the year”. Notably, Uber came to India in 2013 and is available across 125 cities currently.
