Speaking at the inaugural address of the Madhya Pradesh Global Investment Summit 2025, chief minister Mohan Yadav said that the government plans to double the size of the state economy in the next five years.
“There are immense investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh. For a Viksit Bharat, Madhya Pradesh is committed to build a Viksit MP (as well). (We) will double the size of state economy in the next five years,” said Yadav at the summit.
The state government plans to collaborate with global and domestic investors to understand their needs. Yadav added that the government has already prepared a roadmap to encourage future investments in the state.
PM Narendra Modi has also inaugurated the two-day Global Investors Summit on February 24 in Bhopal. He will launch 18 sectoral policies, including industrial, MSME, startups, semiconductors, drones, and tourism.
“We have come out with 18 new investment policies in the state, to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister today,” added Yadav. The state is focusing on smoother policy implementation and enhanced ease of doing business.
Yadav has expressed confidence that the Global Investors Summit (GIS) will elevate the state to new levels of development and open many employment opportunities for the youth.
“Bhopal is going to create a global identity for itself leaving behind painful legacy of gas tragedy,” Yadav added.
This is the first investor summit being held in Bhopal, on February 24-25. Representatives from over 60 countries and 300 top business leaders are expected at the event. With over 25,000 registrations, industry giants like Kumar Mangalam Birla, Gautam Adani, and Nadir Godrej are also attending the event, alongside international delegates and diplomats.
The summit will highlight key sectors, including agriculture, IT, renewable energy, and tourism. A curated menu featuring regional delicacies and global cuisines has been prepared for guests.
