What makes this quarter stand out is that this is the aggregate profit after tax (PAT) of just 1,471 companies as per the CMIE database, and it has surpassed the ₹2.13 lakh crore net profit earned by the full set of 4,819 listed companies in the September 2022 quarter. Essentially, just a quarter of all the listed companies have generated profits higher than what all listed companies made a year ago!
